Meme thingie

Meme stolen from [Unknown LJ tag], as well as various other people along the way -I'll try not to tag the same people she did, but I can't always remember who is doing/did what.

The Rules- A:People who have been tagged may, if they so wish, write their answers in their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question. Please italicize the question if you do that.
B:Tag eight people. Do try not to tag those who tagged you!

(addendum, I've futzed with the rules a bit. The original ones were more severe. I'm not in the mood for severe.

1: What are your nicknames?
Badger, Thorazine, and I've had a few others over time. My current one from my primary seems to be "Pony". (he's been saying that about everything, though..."Do you want to sleep now?" "Pony!" "Can you get me more ginger ale?" "Pony!" etc.)

2: (consider this one italicized, I've forgotten how again) What's your favorite flavor of Ben&Jerry's?
I prefer the Mint Chocolate Chunk. That's only available at the B&J stores themselves, though, sadly. :P So I often end up with Cookie Dough, or Phish Food, or whatever else catches my fancy.

3:What's new in your life right now?
I've apparently withdrawn from college without my knowledge and/or consent. I keep forgetting to call my advisor about it. If I've withdrawn, I'd like my money back! ;-) I have MRSA. AGain. I'm going to get cortisone shots in my back next week. (YAY!)

4:How many colors are you wearing right now?
um..three, unless you count my hair color! (Grey, white, and red)

5:Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
An introvert trained into being, or appearing to be, an extrovert

6:What was the last book you read?
Kathy Reichs' "Cross Bones". Partway through a reread of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods". Finished a few stories in Peter Beagle's "The Rhinoceros Who Quoted Nietzche" (Yes. I read a lot. And that's not even counting magazines, and the occasional comic, plus online reading...)

7: Do you nap a lot?
Sadly, yes. I say sadly, mostly because it's the painkillers that make me sleep constantly, although I do hibernate a bit more in the fall and early winter...I'm hoping that before the christmas thingie I won't need 'em anymore. Then I can just get back to napping when I'm in the mood to nap!

8: Do you have any hobbies?
World of Warcraft, though I haven't played for a little bit. reading everything I can get my hands on, singing when I can, reading, watching TV on my computer, oh, and did I mention reading? ;-)

9: Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Chronic pain in nearly every section of my anatomy. Lack of sufficient cash for what I want to do. Angry at the current government, but that's nothing new...or is it? And, most of all, a lack in my life of sufficient Solstice carols! ;-)

10: What's your favorite dessert?
Um... a lot of them. I guess I'd have to say a good chocolate mousse most of all, followed by high-quality chocolates. Ice cream, as above, can make me happy too, though. Even in this weather! ;-)

11: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
What is this thing you call morning? Oh, yeah, that's when it's bedtime. ;-) About an hour to an hour and a half depending on food or no food, shower or no shower, etc.

12: What websites do you visit daily?
Lately, I seem to be more often on LJ than before. OKCupid, because I like their quiz thingies. and the rest vary depending on mood. (Although I have been doing a LOT of online shopping of late. Get thee behind me, Ebay!:-)

13: What classes are you taking now? And if you're not in school anymore, what's your job?
I WAS taking a 'couple of boring useless basic courses before the chronic pain got worse. (see #3) My last job ended almost a decade ago as a co-business owner. Glad I'm not still trying to do that! :-) I have been, variously, a page in a library, a multiplicity of jobs in a small software publishing company (3 people kind of small), an herbalist, an image processing technician working with nautical charts, and a few minor other things I don't remember at the moment. Currently on SSI. I guess that makes my job being disabled! (*snork*)

14: Do you like to clean?
No. Our house is a pigsty. :P Even if I *did* like to clean, I still could not do much due to not being able to stand for more than a minute or three. Clutter, however, somehow seems "safer" to me. I'm not sure why.

15: What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
My own mutation of the Slinky advertisement. Songs are *always* in my head, but that was the last one really *stuck*.

16: What's the last movie you saw?
My DVD of "My Neighbor, Totoro"

17: What dreams or ambitions do you have for the future?
Not many left now... I'd like to finish college and grad school and become an MSW or a PhD in Psychology, with a specialty in counseling my fellow differently abled people. But that may just be a pipe dream. I think I'd be happy being healthy enough for a regular job of almost any kind other than in fast food. :P

18: What's your least favorite thing that you have to do every day?
Existing. :-P No, actually it would probably be walking any distance whatsoever, or standing for more than about a minute.

19: Best time of your life?
When I'm with my lovers...other than that, it'd be when I'm at conventions, where I feel surrounded by people who know me as I am and, some at least, like me anyway! :-)

...and I think I got a bit overly pessimistic in here in a few places. Probably tiredness and lack of painkillers in my system. Took them just before typing this up,

Tagging:(But I, too, am making it voluntary) (but I hope you'll answer!) user, user, user, user, user, user, user, user (it's the first time I"ve done this name thing. We'll see if I did it right...
